Welcome to PARADISE
The Shoalhaven is a breathtaking South Coast escape, loved for its crystal-clear beaches, relaxed coastal villages, national parks, boutique cafés and laid-back holiday atmosphere. It is the kind of place where days are spent by the water, evenings feel slower, and every stay feels like a true coastal reset.
BEGIN YOUR DAY HERE
Morning Coffee + Huskisson Stroll
Start the day in Huskisson, one of the easiest places to base a Shoalhaven day trip. Grab coffee or breakfast, then take a relaxed walk along the waterfront. Huskisson is a good starting point because it gives guests access to cafés, shops, dolphin cruises and the Jervis Bay foreshore without needing to rush straight into the beaches. Visit NSW lists Jervis Bay as a coastal destination known for dolphin cruises, national parks, snorkelling and marine life.
Mid-morning: White Sands Walk or Hyams Beach
Next, head towards Hyams Beach, one of the most recognised beaches in the Shoalhaven region. The official Shoalhaven tourism site notes that Hyams is known for calm turquoise water and very white sand, but parking can be limited, so arriving earlier is smarter.
For a better experience, do not make the day only about Hyams. That is the tourist trap mistake. It is beautiful, but it can get busy. A stronger option is to explore nearby Chinamans Beach or Greenfield Beach, which are also known for quieter coastal scenery, picnics, snorkelling and walks.

Lunch: Picnic or local café
For lunch, keep it relaxed. Either pack a picnic for Greenfield Beach picnic area or head back towards Huskisson for a casual café lunch. This keeps the day flexible and avoids wasting the best daylight sitting indoors too long.
Pack a picnic, find a shady beachside spot and enjoy a slow lunch by the water — or head back into Huskisson for a relaxed coastal café stop.
Afternoon: Booderee National Park
Spend the afternoon exploring Booderee National Park. Parks Australia recommends full-day itineraries through Booderee and lists swimming, snorkelling, boating, camping and outdoor activities as key things to do in the park.
Late afternoon: Dolphin cruise or sunset by the bay
If guests want something organised, suggest a dolphin cruise from Huskisson. Jervis Bay is known for dolphin-watching cruises, and seasonal whale watching is also popular during migration months.
